Feeling a little better means his pain goes from a 5 or 6 to a 3, not that the pain goes away. He might be distracted from it. He lost the feeling in his legs from his knees down to his feet about 15 years ago. Have you ever had your foot fall asleep? Imagine that buzzing feeling for 24 hours a day. His only relief is sleep and he is medicated:(

I am not saying all this to have anyone feel sorry for him. I am telling you because I have a witness’s perspective on seeing a person in pain.
